The last 4 weeks have been fraught with problems, the pups became very ill with the Kennel Cough virus, Ebony my rottweiler and amazing veterinary treatment saved the lives of some, read the page on DANGERS OF KENNEL COUGH IN PUPPIES which explains all we went through, to be honest some of it is quite hazy, the days were a blur and I was on autopilot most of the time, but we have come out the other side and I now have 8 beautiful healthy bundles of trouble.................If any of you find yourself in a similar situation I hope this article might be of help to you, but most importantly.....don’t give up......where there is life there is hope.......

Thursday 24th July

Daisy had her check up and stitches removed at the vets today. They were very pleased with her progress. She has milk now so is back feeding the pups with me topping up with the bottle. Its great to see her looking so well, shes really enjoying being a mum, and her appetite has fully returned......she is eating me out of house and home.....lol

Tuesday 22nd July 2008

All is going well. Daisy is recovering really well now, her appetite is returning, she loves looking after the puppies as best she can, she has a little amount of milk, so the pups will snuggle up after a bottle feed, and then feed from her. The pups are all so sweet, they will be having their nails cut later today as they are getting quite sharp, worked it out and I have 198 nails to trim, I think that might take me a little while to get that job done......

Saturday 19th July

Daisy finally came home this afternoon, she is much better, and was so pleased to see her puppies, basically, she had an infection set in due to having such a traumatic birth, it made her very poorly, but the vets have sorted it. They are absolutely wonderful. The puppies are still being bottle fed, but Daisy wants to clean them herself, she wants to feed them too, so hopefully she will have milk again soon, but even so 11 puppies are too many for her to feed on her own, so i will continue to help.
Looking into the box and seeing Daisy with all her babies is a beautiful sight!!!

Thursday 17th July 2008

Daisy is at the vets tonight, she hasnt been very well, not eating, and its seems she has an infection as her temperature is high, so she has been having fluids and antibiotics and she is a little brighter. I hope she will be well enough to come home tomorrow. Pups are being bottle fed and are thriving........very busy here at the moment as you can imagine.......Will update tomorrow on Daisy's progress.....
