Check back for details if we can arrange a walk for 2017......

Another very successful Beach Walk took place.  Everyone had a wonderful fun time.....lots of dogs and a variety of breeds.....the raffle made a whopping £200 for K9 Search Dogs.....a very worthy charity.....I think this walk is going to be a regular as everyone enjoyed it so much.....we even had a basset come all the way from Warwickshire....how about that for support! A wonderful day with wonderful people and an amazing bunch of dogs.....roll on the next one!

A slideshow below of the Basset Beach Walk at Coastguard Estuary, Mothecombe, Plymouth....it was absolutely fantastic....all the dogs had a wonderful time.......I will leave the poster up so you have the details..... if any of you are in the area go and have a look...you really wont be disappointed......definitely going to make this walk a regular........enjoy the slideshow and let me know if you might be interested in coming along to our next get together.......as you can see all breeds are most welcome, they all got along so well....they played and played, and although the weather was quite hot by the water it was really lovely, there was a refreshing cool breeze and as you can see most of us had a paddle......we even had a couple of bassets swimming.....it was brilliant.........

Basset Hound Beach Walk at Exmouth in Devon.....

What made nearly 50 Basset Hounds, along with their owners, gather on a windswept ,rain sodden beach in Devon?…..Well, a walk to raise awareness and funds for Basset Hound Welfare (www.bassethoundwelfare.org.uk) and The Basset Hound Health Group (www.bassetsrus.co.uk)! The turnout was absolutely amazing, even the weather didn't dampen the enthusiasm of dogs and owners. Just to see the enjoyment of the hounds racing around the beach, chasing each other and having a truly fantastic time gave everyone something to smile about. Several Bassets, re-homed through welfare, joined us on the walk and it was so lovely to see them all having such an enjoyable time together. There wasn’t a cross word between them or from any of the other breeds that joined us. We walked quite some away along the beach, then stopped off for refreshments at the dog friendly café on the beach front. There was also a raffle with plenty of good prizes on offer and it raised over £150.

Sam Clark of Farlap Photography joined us on the day to photograph the dogs. She really captured some brilliant shots, particularly of the Bassets running across the sand, all of which are available to view on her site. (www.farlap-photography.com) If anyone would like to join us on our next planned get together, take a look on the branch of the Basset Hound Club of Wales website (www.nothinbuttbassets.co.uk ) for details. We all ended up traveling home drenched and cold but with happy tired hounds. Well worth it but really hoping the next get together will see us slapping on a bit of sun lotion!!
